Item Description: 2004 Toyota 4Runner SR5 4WD

4.0L V6. 226K + miles. Grey/grey. Alarm. Electric windows, locks, sunroof. Brush-guard package.

The Good:

Body in decent shape considering its been lightly rear-ended (hit and run, as usual) TWICE by Buford Hwy “Drivers”. All damage is cosmetic only. Frame/bumpers are GTG.

Both catalytic converters, 02 sensors, head gasket, fuel pump, fuel line, timing belt, water pump, radiator w/hoses and thermostat have all been replaced within the past 18 months. I have most service records.

Plugs and all coils were replaced appr. 100K ago. They’re fine.

Brake pads are good. Front rotors AND calipers were replaced 2 years ago. Lots of tread left on Nitto Crosstek 17” tires.

ONLY synthetic motor, transmission and gear oil have been used in the engine, tranny and both differentials and this has been changed religiously!

4WD performs wonderfully! The truck has never been submerged, and has only been on forest service roads. Never taken truly off-road.

The motor is STRONG and does not burn oil at all. It runs GREAT for its age.

Sunroof has never leaked. Rear window opens/closes perfectly either with key fob or dash button.

The AC and heat remain in great shape.

Non-smoking vehicle.

Clean title.

2 sets of keys.

The Bad:

It’s old. Things fall off.

The plastic hood release lever in the cabin has broken off, but it’s still included. No big deal. Pull lightly on the cable and it’s open. This can be fixed.

The hood lift struts no longer function. I’ve propped the hood up with a 2x4 for years. $28 for replacements at Amazon.

The sun visor on the driver side will no longer stay up due to a heavy Bluetooth adapter. I use the universal fix: Velcro!

The nylon gears in the little motors that move the vents for the AC and heat are worn out and occasionally noisy. These are cheap to replace but very difficult to access. The entire dash must be removed. I’ve dealt with the noise, as its not constant.

When the CAT converters were replaced, One of the retaining bolts rusted thru and broke off the same day, which caused a tiny exhaust leak. The extra air occasionally make the 02 sensors light up the idiot-lights on the dash, but these are cleared easily and mean nothing. It's not extra loud, but you can certainly hear it coming from a distance.

The rear wiper has a short somewhere. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. No Big Deal.

The interior has no rips or tears. Front and rear seats are fine. The carpet's OK, but could use a deep cleaning.

I truly hate to part with my beloved 4Runner, and I’m still a bit undecided as to whether I need to free up driveway space by ditching it.

I'm asking $4800 or Best Offer.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask me. I have no work schedule thanks to corporate layoffs, so I can answer as soon as prompted. I am now officially semi-retired for the moment.

I can provide more info and photos if needed.
