Some very cool ones indeed.. I love the JC Higgins with the wood on the side.. This one looks like a later model 31 with barrel code 583.3100 since it does not have the retractable sling.. Period correct scope too..

The Springfield has several great qualities as well.. It can shoot just about anything you put in it.. You can lock the bolt closed for "single action" training with youngsters.. Or for the can crowd thread it and shoot quiets.. LOL
