Unfortunately the pictures are not very clear, but can you describe what type of material that they are made of. As I recall most of the WW2 ration booklets consisted of paper stamps.

To combat inflation during the war the Office of Price Administration (OPA) tightened the belts of all citizens by implementing a nationwide rationing system. Composed of vulcanized fiber, these little red OPA tokens were used to make change for meats and fats purchased with the traditional ration stamps.

Thanks for that response. The rationing process during WW2 is an interesting historical subject and probably needs some further research, documentation and publication. I was an elementary school student during that era, but remember the trials and sacrifices that the general public in the USA were exposed to during the war.
