For sale or trade: A 1972 Smith & Wesson Model 66-0, .357 Combat Magnum revolver with a 4" barrel, finished in the original factory stainless steel. This revolver embodies the essence of what true "Old School" Smith & Wesson craftsmanship is all about. The Model 66 is one of the most iconic revolvers ever produced by S&W, and this particular piece—manufactured in 1972—features several highly sought-after details that modern firearms simply can't replicate.
This classic revolver boasts a hammer-mounted firing pin, a pinned barrel, recessed cylinders, and no internal lock. These features have become increasingly rare in today's machine-made guns. Though it shows signs of wear, the revolver is in excellent mechanical condition, with a perfectly tuned action and timing. It would make a fantastic truck gun or addition to any collection.
Equipped with period-correct Presentation Target grips and a stainless rear sight with a rare black blade, this revolver is part of the earliest production run of stainless steel Model 66s. It’s an extraordinary piece of S&W history. Unfortunately, with a newborn at home and the need to downsize, I no longer have the time to shoot, so this is your chance to own a piece of history.
If you cannot travel, I am happy to ship the revolver.
