For sale or trade Very Rare Smith & Wesson Model 19-P Combat Magnum Revolver, 357 Magnum, 4” barrel with an excellent bore. The Model 19 is one of the most popular revolvers S&W ever produced. In 1987 Smith & Wesson built a fixed-sight version of the Model 19 for export to Peru. Only a small quantity was shipped to Peru, the remainder was sent to Smith & Wesson distributor WISCHO in Germany and proofed in Belgium. This gun is one of the West German exports and it appears to be as new in the box. The smooth combat trigger and service hammer retain strong case-hardened colors. The checkered magna grips remain in excellent condition and feature silver S&W medallions.
The main feature of this gun is the fixed sights, the front is a Baughman ramp with a factory-cut groove down the center filled with yellow paint to draw the eye. This gun times and locks up as good as the day it left the factory. There are Belgian definitive foreign arms proof marks on the bottom of the barrel, cylinder, and bottom of the frame. The barrel also has the WISCHO importer mark.
The revolver is in excellent condition, the original bluing shows just a few light storage/handling marks. Mechanically, the revolver is in excellent condition with no issues and Bank vault lockup and timing. The bore and cylinder chambers are mint and the mechanical working order is flawless. This one is about as nice as they come!!
Historical Information:
Model 19-P: Variations were built a fixed sight features for export to South America (Peru) in limited quantities with a 2-1/2" barrel with a round butt or a 4" barrel on a square butt. Product code: 100701 4", serial ranges of AWD0244-1870, AWE0725-2442, and AWF0028-0508
Production total ~3300 units, of those 1500 went to Peru as planned, another 1200 plus went to GMBH in Germany(One of these), and ~480 were sold domestically
They were -5s in that they didn't have the new yoke, yoke screw, and floating hand. They were chambered in .357 Magnum.
Manufactured in 1987, this beauty has desirable features no longer available on today's modern machine-made guns- like Pre-Mim parts, and of course, the absence of that ugly lock.
If you cannot travel, I am happy to ship the revolver.
