JM MARLIN SERIEAL # BEGINS 04 MARLIN ID AS 1996
This rifle was put together by a gunsmith in Texas before the "Dark" series became main stream. The original sites have been replaced with a ghost ring system. Rifle has been cerakoted (I believe) in black. Furniture has been refinished in a black, textured finish. Sling points have been added and a paracord sling installed. In the buttstock of the rifle, there is a hidden ammunition holder than holds six rounds. Each round is held in place by a sliding trap door that has tactile stops after each round, which is spring loaded. So you can eject one round at a time by feel. I have searched and haven't found this anywhere on the net and I believe it to be hand made. It's pretty slick. Also, on the forend, there's a piece of steel reinforcement. The barrel has been chopped to be flush with the mag tube and a recessed crown.
