So the brace is included in the 26" rule and is then considered an AOW? Sorry... just trying to understand.

My understanding is that the barrel can be shorter than 16" if the total length of the weapon is 26+". So yes, the buffer tube (Sig brace) is part of the overall length and apparently since it's longer than 26" it's not illegal to have a vfg. I'm assuming it re-classifies the weapon to rifle length.

Technically based on your letter is is NOT a pistol but classified as a "firearm".

Adding the fore grip means shooting with 2 hands not 1.

This letter is a bit outdated. I was updated 2 days ago from the atf office in savannah with these pictures.

There exact word were as long as it's not being fired from the shoulder a vfg is not illegal even if it's shorter than 26 inches but I still kept it 26 just because of this letter from an attorney
