My man.... I'm not trying be a jerk here or anything but you seem new or something. Feel free to delete my comment of you feel that I'm rude or whatever. Most standard 229s I've seen on here go for about 500- 650 tops. There is currently a 229 LEGION for $950 as well as a 229 ELITE for 900$ on here. I bought my 229 in pristine condition with 4 mags and an extra barrel for 500 not too long ago. Even asking 800 for one is a hefty price.
