This is for a Springfield 1898 rifle in .30-40 krag. This is a nice old piece of history. The rifle has a cartouche on it marking 1900. I believe this would be when it was made but have not ran the serial numbers to know if that is true or not. The one bad part of the rifle is a crack on tge stock on top as pictured.
