Item Description: I have a Marlin 30 30 336RC with a micro Grooved barrel and is JM Stamped with no cross bolt safety. Gun is in overall pretty good shape with something missing on top of the stock. It's almost like it had a bulls eye on top of the stock. You will see what I am talking about in the pictures. The serial number gives it a manufacturing dare of 1950. Price is firm so please don't ask.
I may be interested in a trade so you can try but I will be picky. The worst I will say is no thank you.

The hole in the top of the stock was for insertion of a small compass, a common practice years ago, I've owned a few like that ......yes, it appears to be early 50's from the looks of lever and butt stock . Come South I'll tip ya

Thanks for the Information. The top of the receiver is Waffle top also. That was soething else that Marlin added to a few of these rifles in !950.

Didn't mean/want to imply Marlin put the compasses in at production, I'm pretty sure they were aftermarket additions.
