Here's what I want. I don't know you and you don't know me. I assume we're all good, law abiding people. But I don't know you.

So I want to see a carry permit, and I would feel warm inside to write down your license number on the BOS. Do I have to have it? No. But if something happens to that gun--that will get tracked back to ME--once I sell it to you, it will make my life simpler to have a bill of sale (this consists of your name and my name, the serial #of the gun and that I'm selling and you're buying as is).

Dudes and dudettes. If you're that opposed to a simple of bill of sale--I respect that. It's far less than you'd give me at the gun shop I work at, though. The other guns I've sold here were very simply affairs, this one will be too.

It's an awesome little gun with good ammo. If you want to make an offer, feel free. I'll be in town for two more weeks before my big out of state move!

I understand your concern for 'clearing your name' in case something happens with this gun....but GA law doenst require that private gun sales have a paper trail. So, if the cops show up at your door and say ' we have tracked this murder back to you because you were the original owner of the gun' do you reallly think that you will be locked up forever beause you didn't have my license number written down? No. Of course not. That's absurd.

So....with many trades under my belt....I can say that it is much easier, and completely legal, to not require unnecessary personal information about someone during a deal.

Good luck with your sale, but I find it offensive that you want to write down my personal information in order to do the deal.

:yo:

You find it offensive? Well, you don't have to do a deal with me, and that's cool. What's nice about this forum, is that both buyers and sellers can do business according to their comfort levels.

Let me clarify:

I feel more comfortable selling with a simple bill of sale. You are free to find a seller who matches YOUR comfort level. I know I always prefer to spend my money, when I can, with people I don't feel at odds with.

I am aware GA doesn't require a bill of sale, but this girl does, so...I'll eventually find a person for whom this isn't an issue, as I have with other firearms, and I don't mind waiting for that eventual buyer. It will take a bit longer--no biggie.

Thanks, all for your input. Again, I know GA doesn't require a bill of sale, but I do. It's my comfort level. And if this is offensive to some, there's nothing I can about that except recommend you exercise your right to chose whom you wish to do business with--and bypass me.

I think this dead horse is beaten enough.
