Are there any virtues to a "red" reticle vs a "black" reticle?
It is a black reticle without the illumination. Red is the color of the LED. These come in a red or green reticle and red is generally easier to see in daylight.
An illuminated reticle is quicker and easier to aquire in darkness or low light.
