US WW2 First Aid Packet, U.S. GOV’T, Carlisle Model

This 4” x 2 1/4” x 1” sealed copper container has raised stamp marking on it’s front, reading: FIRST AID PACKET, U.S. GOV’T, CARLISLE MODEL, TO OPEN PULL TAPE, RED COLOR INDICATES BACK OF DRESSING, PUT OTHER SIDE NEXT TO WOUND, MFG. BY, HANDY PAD SUPPLY CO., WORCHESTER, MASS.”
The bottom of the packet is marked in a circle; CONTRACTOR CONRAY PRODUCTS COMPANY, N.Y., WITH SULFAMILAMIDE”.
This packet is approximately 98% excellent Cond. with pull tab and paint is perfect shape. The pull tab is much like a sardine tin tab, and would be opened in a similar way.
These were issued to Army personnel for their belt carried first aid pouch. This is a nice example, and is an uncommon variation, due to the packet being made of copper, with the addition of sulfamilamide crystal packet within.
