Item Description: All another extra, extremely hard to find carbine out of my collection...

1943 production Saginaw, S'G' mfg. in Grand Rapids, MI... They took over the failed Irwin Pedersen contract... Serial # 1,796,xxx this was the lowest produced carbine out of the 10 subcontractors... totalled 223,xxx and change... 7-43 dated Underwood barrel with M.E. = 1.5

This rifle falls in the 1st serial # group built... It has gone through a Post war update and had the type 3 barrel band, adj. rear sight and rotary safety added... stock has been lightly sanded, is still the correct RSG stock... internals are still all S'G' and appear to be period correct...

UPDATE: Have also installed a better matching 2 rivet RSG marked handguard...

Any ??? feel free to ask...

Thanks, have a great Memorial weekend, With Thanks to all those that have served and or sacrificed for our country... My late father was a WWII Army vet that served in the Central Pacific and I honor his memory this weekend...

Yesssir, that's when I originally posted it... then forgot about it... and its languished at the bottom of the pile here, waiting to be refreshed... finally got around to it...

Memorial Day was May 29th. It is observed in memory of those who've lost their lives in the service.

This weekend is Labor Day, a communist/labor/union holiday.

In any case, nice carbine.....good luck with the sale.

Yeah.
For all of us common working folk.
I think I know a little about the origin of the holiday..... and sorta understand your description.
But I think most of us just enjoy the extended weekend. Cook out. Spend time with family and friends.
No doubt, we'll be bitching about our jobs at some point.

But we'll get up and do it all over again on, Tuesday

And I, myself being a card carry member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 613,
will carry my commie ass back to work too.
