Haven't shot competitively going on 2yrs and I have become more passionate about archery again. I am selling my Backup Open gun to free up some funds for Hunting trips out west. For Sale is a Custom built Open gun, built by Rusty Kidd out of Atlanta, from what I know he was "The Guy" for custom 2011's years ago, If you've been around Area 6 for some time you probably know of him, if not you probably know Brad Griffin. Brad has been shooting Rusty's guns for years! This gun was built a while ago (10+ yrs), I am the 2nd owner, the original owner was older gentleman that didn't shoot a lot and it spent most of it's life shooting low round count local matches around the Atlanta area. The previous owner said he shot around 3k rounds. I have put another 6k round through it since buying it in 2019, this gun was my only open gun for 1-1/2yrs and then I got a Honcho, and that's when it became my backup. The gun is chambered .38 Super, has an Aftec Extractor (will shoot Super comp & TJ flawless). The gun was originally built with on STI frame & slide (both hard chrome), Schumann Hybricomp barrel, with a plastic grip. Shortly after buying the gun I ditched the plastic grip for a Cheeley aggressive E2 grip (in the white) with magwell and trigger (1lb-10oz). The grip was fitted, but the beaver tail & grip safety were not blended, at that time I had extreme race components installed, Wilson combat Tactical safeties, Everglades mount, SRO, Dawson Tooless guide rod, and *thumb rest [generic]* *thumb rest [generic]*. The gun never missed a beat and ran great for 6k rounds, it's not mag finicky, I've ran MBX, Atlas, STI Gen 1's through it, fit it tight and feels like it has ball bearing on the slide. Included with the gun is a 1/2 a 5gal bucket of mixed .38 brass and around 300-400 new starline Super comp. If you are local to ATL GA or willing to meet a reasonable distance I can also include 12lbs of sealed VV N105 and the load data. This gun has only ever shoot Major ammo and its only seen VV N105 it's entire life, as I got 24lbs of N105 with the gun from the original owner.
