Man I really hate hearing these kinds of tales about auto repair shops. That’s the reason people are gun shy of most so called repair centers. A real technician that knows his stuff would repair or replace anything he breaks in the process of repair or diagnostics. Everyone is correct about things getting broken because of age or heat. It happens. It’s what you do after that shows your worth. All I can offer is a hope that things get better for you sir!
A good mechanic, word gets around. They have more work than they can do. The quality of cars used to be better. But since the computer controlled engines, they do last longer. But when you get a lemon.......You pay dearly.....
At least you understand that. Don't feel bad. I have 8 vehicles. All but one has a current problem right now. But all mine accumulated don't add up to what you have goin on

1997-2003 Ford 4.6 and 5.4 engines are notorious for rough idle issues related to spark plugs and coil pack issues. As a previous owner of both engines,I have replaced many coil packs that caused a multitude of issues to present themselves. Every single time,new plugs and coils worked like a charm.
It will all work out , & heck , I could imagine having 8 vehicles , that would drive me crazy .

It;s a 2006 , but have read many still have those issues , I will get one more opinion this week & go from there .

I've had 3 broke down at one time. I never intended to have that many. But at least I always have somethin to drive. 8 includes a motorcycle
