Just Picked Up My SP-01...

Those tough Ruger revolvers are definitely meant to be shot, blast away, carry it, fingerbang it...etc

Something about people bringing up Ruger in a CZ thread is cracking me up!

But back on track, don't you dare sentence that CZ to a life in prison as a safe queen! Shoot it, enjoy it, and you will end up making it your EDC or your nightstand gun. I've got a Phantom with a TLR-1s by the bed and a CZ Rami as my EDC. They are beat up and worn, but they work every time.

The SP-01 Tactical is a metal framed decocker. The SP-01 Phantom is the polymer framed decocker.

Yes, but the Phantom only exists in one variant. It is an anomaly in the CZ line. My point was that any decocker model sans the Omega versions which you can swap from decocker to da/sa are known as tactical versions in the CZ circles.

The SP-01 and SP-01 tactical are all full metal. The Phantom was always only a decocker poly framed railed full size CZ gun before it was retired in 2012.

I have never heard of the de-cocker models referred to as "tactical". They are generally referred to as "BD" models. Rami BD, CZ 75 BD, CZ 97BD as indicated on CZ's website: http://cz-usa.com/products/by-category/handguns/

At any rate, I was unaware that CZ discontinued the Phantom. It is by far my favorite handgun and I'm glad that it didn't sell when I posted it up on here last year. I guess they replaced it with the P-09.

Yea, it's kind of sad the Phantom was discontinued since the only other full size polymer is the P-09, but that uses an Omega trigger which isn't bad, just not as good as a standard da/sa.
