K & L frame Smith & Wessons lets see them!

I love my K Frame Smiths - Have both a Model 17 (.22 LR) and Model 19 (.357) that are far more accurate than I am.

Some say that a 3 inch barrel M65 is the all around best CCW revolver. It has developed a cult following.

The thing is though that these guns cannot be a fed a steady diet of hot 125 grain .357 mag loads. Shoot .38 out of them and carry the hot stuff.

Or shoot the 158 grain .357's that they were designed for. The caution was only for the 125 grain ammo.

A study was done a while back (I'll have to find it again)...that shows that a 125 grain .357 hits the forcing cone going almost as fast as a 158 gr. leaves the barrel of a 4" gun. And they wonder why K-frame forcing cones crack. As you said...they were not designed to handle that round.

Now an L-frame is a different story...shoot whatever you want through that.

And JWC...that's all my K's. On top of that I have one each of J-frame, L-frame and N-frame. The Model 28 N-frame is near invincible. If you blow that apart...you don't deserve to be anywhere near another gun.
