IN!! When I overheard a group of "gentlemen" buying up the .22 ammo at Academy one morning state "We should be able to resell this easily", I realized where the problem lies....not capitalism but greed.
I am in and here is my statement regarding the ammo shortage/hoarders/flippers:
My friend, who is a high school teacher with 6 children, has had some burglaries in his neighborhood, including to his next door neighbor's home (twice). His wife actually saw 2 of the suspects come into his backyard about 2 weeks ago, then they realized that someone was home and left.
My friend decided that he needed a firearm to defend his home, himself, or his family against potential malcontents.
After doing his own research and speaking with me multiple times, last week he purchased his first gun, a Glock 19. He asked me to take him out to shoot it and teach him as much as I could. Luckily, I had been gathering ammo for a while (1 box at a time) and we went out and shot 200 of my rounds for a training session and I gave him another 100 rounds of mine so he could shoot again or defend himself, if necessary.
However, if it was not for my own gradual gathering of ammo, there is no way that he could have purchased enough (remember, he has 6 mouths to feed) for a decent training day or to defend himself, because of the ammo hoarders and flippers. And that nice Glock would simply be a paperweight.
