What's the fair price and is it worth fixing?

I'd say dont do it unless you have a mechanic friend with a bike junkyard.

Ouch, there's a reason that bike became a parts bike. I do not care how cheap it is. I would not go there. I see more first time buyers get turned off by picking up an old bike that becomes a money pit. You can spend as low as 2 k on a bike and most likely have to work on it. 3 k will usually get you a dependable bike if you know what your looking for. Good luck.

Probably not worth fixings, maybe a $1000 bike in good working order. Project bikes are fun though. Wish I haf the time and space to take on another.

Dont get a junker for your first bike

$2500 will get you a dependable small street bike or dual sport if you shop carefully

Only buy a project bike if you need the parts for your good bike.
