Kayak Fishing Thread

Took it for a quick test run on a large creek near my house in Cobb county . Worked perfectly . Now onto the hooch when the hordes go home this evening
We are headed back to our place in Florida on Tuesday. Anxious to get back to some fishing and see if the topwater action has turned back on. Not looking forward to horrible humidity... summer is my least favorite time to be down there.

I caught about a dozen. That was the biggest. The rest were just fun to catch pond size, under 2 lbs. I caught one a little smaller than this one that I thought was a stud. He was incredibly strong for his size. When he came up the first time I couldn’t believe he wasn’t bigger. He thought he was a beast.

MAK MAK give us an update when you start fishing down in Florida and let us know what they are hitting on, good luck and tight lines
Most everything likes the paddletails and other soft plastics year-round, and in the warmer months my go-to for early morning is topwater plugs. Zaraspook or Skitter-V. Only time I use bait anymore is if I have a guest who doesn’t like artificials or if I get skunked a couple times in a row I will catch some live mullet to use. I don’t seem to catch any more on the bait but for some reason I always fall back to it if I have some bad days.
These are my typical catches within kayak range of the house. I don’t usually catch large numbers around here like I have other places I’ve fished, but I can usually manage enough to keep it interesting and to invite a couple home for dinner.
