Keeping a gun lubed in a safe?

Most any type motor oil, I use 30 wt.

If you use 20w-50. It's thicker when it's cool. I tend to stray away from motor oil because of all harsh detergents and additives that motor oil has. This has not been proven but I would think all the detergents and so on would be rough on the wood. On synthetic stocks then go for it.
