Kidney infection?

Welp... no infection but there is blood in my pee.

The doctor has referred me to a specialist and I’m on standby.

I ain’t gonna lie, I’m a little nervous now because I’ve got 2 young kids and wife that depend on me.

Blood in the urine could be as simple as you passed a Kidney Stone.. If they did a Urinalysis, Or, I hope you had Bood work done to check your WBC count. That could mean a UTI and a round of Antibiotics..

That is what they need to focus on. You may end up with a Cysto to visualize and check your bladder as well to rule out the letter we all hate.. Then possibly a quick abdominal ultrasound of the Kidneys.

This is the traditional work up, or standard of care your Urologist will run through based on ruling out the source of the blood.

Good Luck

They will also look at his Creatinine, BUN, and GFR, those labs are most indicative of kidney disease or damage. An elevated WBC count just indicates infection, but does not indicate the source.

Absolutely... But that is for Kidney function or dehydration.. That will not reveal the source of blood...

I've had so many stones I can't remember. They took two out recently and I still have a stint that was put in two weeks ago. I still have a huge stone that cannot me removed the normal way and they will have to go in the back to get it.

Hope it all goes OK, sounds just like when I had a kdney stone. Firts it was to yhe urgent care, and was reffered to the ER and from there to the urologist. It took a week to pass, but the pain was gone once it was off the kidney. Good luck and keep us posted.
