I rode the Dragon several years ago on a '91 Fat Boy and survived it. These days, I stick to the BRP and Hwy 80 and 226/226A when I'm in western NC.

Wayah Road is fun too...

Love that road to Franklin or back. There is a BBQ place there we usually hit that is great eating. For dual sporters an access road crosses the river and it's a nice ride as well but the road surface is not best for street bikes. Great smallmouth fishing in that river as well.

I have been up there in a car , during the week is much better than the weekend

There are some Great roads around highlands

The one from Walhalla SC to highlands NC is fantastic
And hardly any traffic since it's not famous

And just about every county road around highlands is paved and super curvy
