Kitchen sink Gun repair screw ups and learning experiances

I put that damned series 80 safety link in wrong once. It's been replaced with a plate. Safeties, we don't need no stinking safties!!!

I just wish I could go back to 2011 or so and tell myself to actually buy those hollow-ground screwdrivers sitting on my Brownells wishlist. So many screws would never have had to die such a painful and disfiguring death.

I finally bought them last year, and now I 'get it'.

I've used good quality screwdrivers at work for decades, and never had a problem. Heck, I used to make a living with them (and some wire cutters) as a car stereo installer when I was in my 20s. But for working on guns, not having a set of hollow-ground drivers is the biggest rookie mistake I can think of.

I don't really have a huge blunder, I'm just having trouble with getting my first AR build to cycle. It's definitely in the lower, and likely in the buffer/tube. Charging handle doesn't even let me pull back the BCG after firing a round. Have to force it open.
Did the same problem using my lower with a friend's upper...
What do you think t could be
