You are wrong. It Is a GWL Georgia Weapons License. It covers knives 5inches and over. Smaller than that they are regulated by local laws. The people at the probate courts have been proven idiots several times. Read the law here http://www.georgiapacking.org/law.php

Thanks man, I was getting ready to set this straight.

100%. lately a kershaw g10 tanto. A Kershaw leek serrated stainless on dressy days. A 10 year old crkt m16 tanto serrated for beating on. Always a victornox cadet on my keys, a leatherman wave or gerber multi within arms reach. And usually a 5" or so fixed blade not far away.

In jeans I carry a CKRT with a clip and a super small Swiss Army knife.
Dressed up it is just the little Swiss Army Knife...that you can shave with its little 2 inch blade!

I carry my Gerber Paraframe 24/7. Its not as nice as a kershaw or a SOG but I am not very well trained in knife fighting so its just going to be a stabbing weapon for me anyway. At least I have something I can carry to class when I cant have my LCP or my Glock 36 with me.

Read the law here http://www.georgiapacking.org/law.php Never take anothers word forit, Everyone who carries is responsible to know the laws, and whether or not they are following it. If you were arrested, and told the leo the probate told you you were fine, you would be laughed at. Remember, ignorance of the law is NOT a valid defense.

Im not shocked the probate people have no clue... UGH thanks for clearing that up for me!

For the last 18 years, I've carried the same original Leatherman on my belt. The design isn't as good as the newer models, but the thing just keeps working for me and has sentimental value.

Ocassionally, I carry a Colonial pocket knife that I've had since 1975. It's seen a lot of wear and tear over the years, but those damn carbon steel blades sharpen so easily and hold an edge much better than stainless stuff. Murderous on cardboard boxes, rope, envelopes, etc. I made some new scales for it a few years back, because the original faux bone scales were finally starting to yellow and crack.

Other occassional pocket carries include a small Cabelas lock back, a Buck Bantam lockback, and a cheap Coast brand liner lock folder that is a very servicable working knife I am not worried about losing. It's the most abused of all my knives. Have had it for many years, also, but the thing just keeps on coming back for more punishment, no matter how many times it ends up in the washing machine.
