Lab owners, I need your help ASAP!

Here is a site. http://www.labrador-retriever-guide.com/labrador-puppies.html

Go get a crate for him to sleep in. All dogs do not want to mess their own sleeping area, so this helps with house training. Get a small one for now and a bigger one later. Do not get a huge one now or it will poop in the corner. This is for night and short time during the day. You should not leave the dog in it while you are all away for 10 hours at work. If that is the case, you do not need a dog.

Good luck.

Wife is a stay at home mom. Thanks for the link!

don't worry about pad training, take them out every four hours, only allow them to eat twice a day, that keeps them from going in the floor...one of the best and intuitive breeds out there.

He decided to name her Luna.

If you really wanna make good use of the dog take him duck hunting around other hunters with trained dogs.
He will copy the other dogs, its how hunting dogs are trained.

DO NOT DO THIS.... the dog will never learn to be independent if all he ever does is work with other dogs. The dog needs to be trained to work on his own, by himself. Pups only want to play when other dogs are around. Find the book... Water Dog, by Richard Wolters. buy it, Read it, Read it again. Do what he says, when he says. The dog will turn out fine. They are easy to train and make wonderful family dogs, but they require lots of exercise time, and will chew on anything and everything until they are about 2 years old. It is just bred into them to use their mouths.

Good luck with the pup.

Way to go mother inlaw!! Better yet take it to her house and tell her I'll be back in 2yrs to pick it up. Let the dog live with her and the kids can go over there to visit the puppy.
