Usually I aim right at them, but my buddy made the first shot on the drake. Not sure where he was aiming. I actually hit the hen as she was flying just above the water. After that it was follow up shots. The drake looked like he was done, but managed to get up and fly out of there. The hen was another story.

Same here, got a few spots on public land to try out next year. Would like to get a boat rigged up for it too.

I've been thinking the very same thing. Been watching videos of guys hunting from kayaks. Might try them out this summer to see how they feel. Not sure about that though.
