If the numbers match, repair the rusted areas, polish it out, and leave it stock. If you can find the build sheet, make sure it has everything it should and nothing it shouldn't.
 
mild build. crate up the motor and trans. keep it safe. then drop in a crate motor 400ish hp and a 4 speed auto.
some rims,maybe a vintage air(wont hurt the value) and have fun on the weekends.
 
Huge performance & fuel economy improvement is to simply replace that PG trans with a TH350
Bolt it job...exact same length.

Yeah just leave it as is. I'm not a big GM fan but original is original. The only part that would worry me is it coming from Puerto Rico. I'd be worried that it's are up with rust.

Very little rust on this car. Even the typical door corners and rear window corners rust is not there. Interior is in excellent shape as well.
