Its a common chevelle, maybe put a hot motor in it. Build the car to what you enjoy doing, not what everyone else thinks you should do.

Agreed. It's a nice original car, and if it was an SS it would be best to leave it original. Since it's a Malibu you won't harm the value with performance mods. As long as you don't "bubba" anything you'll be in good shape. I'd go for a GM crate 383, overdrive trans, and Vintage Air if it needs it.

What do YOU want to do with it? Show or drive? Leave it stock if you want to primarily show it, rod it with upgraded brakes, engine, transmission, air conditioning, etc. if wanting to drive it more.

Restomod without doing any permanent changes to the body. Modern fuel injected engine and a 4 speed auto at a minimum with power disc brakes will make that a drive anywhere anytime car.

Get some AC though...
