Legality of firing a .22 in my back yard

In Atlanta, firing a firearm is only permitted for private citizens in self defense or at a range. Interestingly enough, it is always illegal to fire an air rifle or even a slingshot inside Atlanta... no range exception for those
airsoft doesnt count though :) (at least i dont think it does)

although airsoft kinda sucks

I thought so but I could not find the link.

I believe this applies to DNR regulations when hunting. I am don't think it applies to practice or sport.
If he lives in a city I would assume there is a ordinance against shooting any kind of projectile. Pretty much Standard Procedure for most city's.

Just saw where he lives in Cobb County not the city. Check with the county commissioners office (Marshall's) for any ordinances in place.

Scroll to very bottom in miscellaneous (is where I found it)

The law may have been updated or repealed.

That's where I found it too but another member said they changed that. I dunno I have private places to shoot so I don't stay current on those laws as they don't really apply to me. That's why it's always best to contact local pd before shooting in an unknown place.
