Let's CELEBRATE Takedown Rifles!

Is it your experience that a temporary structure is stronger than a permanent one? Is it usually the case that an object milled from one piece of steel is stronger than one milled from 3 and screwed together? If a tube is constantly twisted in and out of another tube over time will it hold zero as well as one pinned/welded in place?

I'm just using common sense, Murphys law and basics of friction. If you have evidence proving that break down rifles are more durable and more accurate than a similar rifle. Maybe you can change my mind.
So, speculation and a bit of trolling then.

Cheers :)

Very nice. Also for also for takedown fans. On another thread a member suggested a paint ball tube full of 22 ammo about 500 rounds and fits right in the factory bag sleeve.

I bought a pair of Spyder Speed Tubes which were $4.79 on Amazon several years ago. One will hold almost 1000 rounds and it fits in a pocket in the Ruger bag.

My take down rifles all happen to have shot gun barrels attached to the rifle barrel. Here is my collection of savage model 24 rifle shotgun combos. I will be adding number 6 to the fold this weekend and then will start my search for number just had my 7th child last month and my intention is to have one of these to pass down to each of my kids in the same way that my grandfathers model 24 was passed on to me.

Very cool.. Must admit, these did not come to mind when takedowns were considered but certainly qualify. And probably one of the easiest to take apart. Great story too. :)
