Hey guys, I'm thinking of getting a Marlin 336 in 30-30 and having the barrel/mag tube cut shorter, barrel threaded, and front sight installed correctly.

I'm wanting to give a local guy my money to do rather than shipping it off, but so far I haven't come across anyone reputable enough in ga to actually do this work. I may end up just sending it off, but I wanted to give someone here the chance to do it first.

Will have a compensator on it usually, with the occasional suppressor used.

Or, if you think I should go the route of just getting one pre-threaded like the 336cst or the Mossberg tactical lever gun, I can do that too. For the money spent I can probably go that route and have a factory threaded barrel for cheaper... Just depends on costs lol.

Any help, comments, or concerns are greatly appreciated!

Dobbs can do it, but the barrel has to come off,and the 2 Marlins I sent him were returned as he could not remove the barrels without damage.

Winchesters were not a problem, though.
