Heck yeah I got it. It's a CONSTANT reminder that some gunsmithin' needs to be hired out!Do you still have it? Sometimes time can turn a seemingly expensive project into a boom stick with a little meat on the bone.

I'm looking to buy a Marlin 336XLR. If not XLR maybe SS. Prefer JM stamp but not a deal breaker.
Finding a XLR with the JM stamp, will most likely be rather expensive, but there are quite a few XLRs available without the JM stamp. GunBroker always has quite a few of the newer XLRs for sale on their auction site. Bud's has some XLRs available, so I believe you should be able to find a new one rather easily. Good luck finding what you want.
I've spoken with a local gun shop but they said their distributors are out of stock so may take a couple weeks. Price isn't an issue. As long as it's reasonable. But I've looked online and found a few even a couple JM stamped but I've never done the whole online shipping thing and kinda nervous about it. Anyone here had experience with it. What happens if the person doesn't ship the rifle. Or the rifle is misrepresented. Like say it says JM on the ad but it gets here and it doesn't have it. Or the rifle looks good in the pictures but there are no close ups and it gets here and it has a lot of scratches or wood is all dinged up and scratched. I know some ads say no inspection period. What can you do if this happens? Or do you just have to shrug it off and just take the hit?
Hey... I want to shoot that chicken!
Picked up another to add to the collection. 1994 Marlin 39as
