Liberty gives access to their safes but there are no back door master codes

Well shouldn't it be up to the owner to make that determination?
Exactly this. Those of you defending Liberty safes don't seem to get it. It's not their safe to give the code to. It's the owner's private property. If the owner doesn't want to give up the combination to the feds then nobody else has the right to do it either, least of all without a court order. Yes they would have got in the safe either way but as stated that's not their decision to make. That's up to the owner of the private property. They just were more than happy to bend over. I hope they suffer the consequences by right thinking American buyers. But as we all know our principles bend to what's convenient and our collective memory is way too short.

EXACTLY! It wasn't their safe the moment it went out to their dealers. So they had no rights to even know the code much less give it away. And if the gubment DID want to get into it that bad it's between them and the named folks on the warrant as to who will blink first. The legal owner should put all the burden on the gubment to see just how bad they want to get into it.
On top of all that what in the hell does a J6 warrant have to do with whatever was in that house much less the safe? Seems to me the phones and computers would have been their main focus.

Hoping to find a weapon he didn't pay the tax on and have a permission slip for to prove what a "menace" he is.

Some info on S&G locks. https://sargentandgreenleaf.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Operating_Instructions_6123.pdf

"MRC—Management Reset Code Before any buttons are pressed, you need to make some decisions. The first is whether or not your lock is to have a management reset code, also known as the MRC. This code must be programmed into the lock before the master code is changed for the first time. After the master code is changed, the lock can never be programmed with an MRC. Conversely, when an MRC is programmed into a lock, it is always present. It cannot be deleted or changed."

you can’t erase it unless you know the code
