The companies will give you a new phone for free when they discontinue an outdated network. It costs a fortune to keep an outdated network online. Discontinuing allows for better wider service area. Only thing that really sucks about it is those who have 3G trail cameras…

My forced $0.02 is, the people who don't like this change are the same ones who cried when the rotary phone quit...
The bills are way more affordable now and as soon as the section 8 stuff of not working anymore, maybe it will get even cheaper..
