Go to the Barrow county site about property taxes.
I tuned 65 3 years ago in Paulding co. At 65 school taxes are 50% off. You have to file on your own and they wont tell you of the discount. I filled im May of my 65th year i tuned in December. They said I applied 1 month too late. I told my 71 year old neighbor and hevdidnt know anything about it. It is not retroactive. Since then I voted against all incombratnt
Ive lived in barrow for about 10 years, mainly Winder. my buinsess is in Bethelhem.
Its getting crowded bad and fast. If you like homes so close you can smell your neightbors fart or a city who wont approve new buisness to open in the area its great.
We moved to oconnee 2 years ago and couldnt be happier. Especially the schools

Been in Auburn over 20 years now. Used to be a nice place to live, now it's just an extension of gwinnett and all the the crap that comes with it. A little over 20 months to go and then it's off to the farm until the day I'm called home.
I bet Winder/Bethlehem are not far behind.
It will all be Gwinnett East soon, especially once GA-316 becomes the new Interstate to Athens.
