The wife and I have been wanting a “fireplace” for a quite a while. Finally budgeted it and got a few quotes, most were over $3k!!!! I almost fell over, I understand skilled labor isn’t cheap and for good reason. Well since I’m stubborn, cheap, and poor I figured I’d try to tackled it myself. It took me about 5 days working everyday after work. Honestly, I surprised myself with how well it turned out, it’s not perfect but it came out better than I thought it would. Electric fireplace insert that will burn you out of the house and shiplap. I also made the faux mantle. Wife was thrilled so that’s good enough for me! Today is the first day I haven’t had anything to do so I’m gonna drink!!
