I have had this for 2+ years. It has been hot and cold at the range. But recently I am VERY happy with it. One original magazine - but part of the follower is broker so it will not lock open. Getting used to it but found some mags that might alleviate the problem. Also I have a MecGar single stack 1911 mag that works amazingly well. It will lock the slide back and has never jammed. I can honestly say this is one of the most accurate autos I have ever owned. No exaggeration when I say one ragged hole at 15 yards. The Llama is much better than me.
Was thinking about selling or trading it - but it will stay here for awhile.
All in all a nice surprise. Stay safe - roswellj

Does this model feed hollowpoint bullets? I had a Star model BM pistol (also made in Spain) that did not work reliably with most hollow points until I polished the throat of the barrel and the feed ramp.

Even after that work it only worked with "some" HP bullets that had a profile that was closer to round nose. But, that was good enough and I chose one of those brands and bullet styles as my carry load for that gun.

Try ebay search for llama gun parts - quite a bit of stuff there - the 45 ACP extractor might be the same part as the 9mm. The extractors on Llama 1911 s are unique - they usually work fine - maybe the extractor spring is weak - and yes they are amazing accurate - brownells might help too

I have the 9mm xl-b that is very accurate. I am having extractor problems, can't solve due no parts. I think a lot of potential.

Thanks guys - the Llama is fun and accurate. I have a Colt 1911 but I love to shoot the Llama and I carry it. It has a certain look/style. I am happy with it.

PS - have not tried hollow point ammo - will try but full metal jacket is good for me.

Thank you-

I bought my llama about 2 months ago with the intention of using for parts until a better one came along.
I am an old guy that likes to tinker with old guns so a llama is a natural. I shot the pistol to just check for safety and it was very accurate, so have decided to try to get it to run.
When I first got it, it would eject by hand but not by firing, brass would stay in chamber. Cleaned and polished chamber and it still does not eject properly.
Took ejector out and compared to a new one, looks same?? The pistol is in rough shape from previous owner but I am ok with that, not into pretty.
I have attached a few pics to see if anyone can see the problem.
Thanks
Tony

I am sorry that it jams - I am lucky not one jam. Sometimes in the past the aftermarket mag will not seat until I gently slide it in. It is such a good looking gun and I like to have few 'extra pistols' that I might keep it for insurance.
Good luck with yours.

Roswell J is right - Trying a new magazine is a pretty good idea. I run some second hand Kimber mags in mine they work fine.

My 1st guess is it doesn't like the ammunition (bullet or bullet weight or both).

I installed a Brownells barrel bushing that made things even tighter - I had to polish the barrel and keep bushing lubed - and then then let it run in before feeding issues went away. The tolerances are really tight on the original Llama slide and frame grooves with very sharp edges - - good idea to wipe a cloth down the grooves to see if there are any burrs (burrs will snag the cloth or tissue) - smooth out rough parts out and use a good high temp grease at the frame to slide interface.

Nice piece
