he lacks a collar still, and has a few ticks on him i removed 4 of them. he ate about 5 cups of dry dog food with water in it, 2 dog treats and 3 bacon snack things then buried some food in the yard. he seems friendly as heck with humans willing to let me and 4 visitors pet him. what do you fellows think, does he look healthy or need some meat on his bones? how old does he look?
yes the pictures are blurry but it doesn't exactly stay still too often it seems

What's the story? Did you find him loose?

Looks like a Ridgeback minus the ridge. IF so, a solid breed. Loyal to the core. I know, I've had 6. He looks a little skinny but has good muscle tone.

He'd be a keeper.

hes been around for 3 months going in my backyard and sniffing around, i removed some ticks off of him since then when i see em on him and give him some food winch i saw his ribs through the skin somewhat

i found him loose no collar wondering around treeing animals on occasion and tracking, so i started feeding the fellow and he comes around the same time everyday

If you don't want to keep him, you might want to consider contacting the Ridgeback Rescue. He deserves more than he's apparently getting from his negligent owner.

If he has a high prey drive (which it sounds like he might), it will be a treat to watch him run down rabbits and small game....or Lions if you have any!

Keep him......you'll be glad you did. You'll have a friend for life.

Sounds like he might be a neighborhood dog and you are on his route. Obviously he has somewhere else to go or he would just hang there all the time. I'd keep being his friend and let him make up his mind what he wants to do.

Its a long shot but maybe someone chipped him? Animal control or vet could scan to see for free.
Either that or he is a neighborhood dog that belongs to a neighbor. We used to feed my neighbors Walker because he always looked hungry and one heck of a friendly dog. Bubba was the only dog I have ever seen that would run dead at you and tuck his head down into a full summersault and want his belly rubbed
