long range rifle recommendations

Tikka rifles are always good. I've had good luck with the Browning long range X-bolts. They are a little finicky with ammo, but once you find the right load they are dead on.

So in resurrecting this thread, if I wanted an entry-level long range rifle, Ruger American in .308 wouldn't be a bad start? Did I understand all this correctly?

Any fat barreled rem 700, tikka or Savage will give you a much better selection of aftermarket upgrades when you wanna do better.

I’m just jumping in to say DADGUMMIT!!! Savage 112 SuperMatch (338lm) went from $900 to $1400 almost over night. I’ll read up later… but it’s seeming like if you’re gonna go long? better do it soon?

I hadn’t previously been much of o Savage fan but they made (past tense) a model 110 (&111) long range & I’ve been pleasantly surprised & pleased with it. Spent more on the glass than the $1k rifle but was able to dial in in to 600 yards in a matter of a couple of hours.
