I've always wanted to get into this... and I've bought a Ruger Precision Rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor,(I realize this is entry level in the long range shooting world)a Vortex Razor 4.5-27X56 scope, and a Kestrel meter. Anybody else out there into this madness? I have a buddy who shoots with the APA team, but my time with him will be very limited as far as coaching goes. Something draws me to being able to hit a target at 1/2 mile or farther. I shoot comfortably out to 500 yards now, but I want to take it to the next level.

I run numerous Precision Rifle courses, and host shoots.

I have a 2-day Basic Precision Rifle course on Jan 21-22 in Lauren's SC. Everyone shoots to a minimum of 1,000 yards, and the steel targets go out to 1,500 yards.

My next Basic Precision Rifle course after that will be April 15-16 in Pelham TN.

That Ruger is only entry level in price. It will compete with the high dollar rifles all day long!

They're excellent shooters. Me and a buddy ran his Ruger PR 6.5 Creedmoor out to 1,200yds with factory Hornady ammo with great success.

I am glad to hear all the positive comments on the Ruger! I'm excited about stretching its legs!

If you have a buddy who shoots on the APA team, you should be in good hands. Jered, Brandon and the rest of the guys are top notch shooters. My Wind reading instructor is also on team APA.
The RPR is an excellent starter rifle, Ive next to a several of them last year at matches.

    Welcome to the addiction.
