Looking for the do all pistol.

Another vote for the G19. Pick yourself up a weapon light for Black Friday and you're half to the perfect home defense handgun:

Glock model 20 or 29. Carry them around town or in the woods. That is a do it all weapon but just my $.02

If you say it is between a Sig and a G17----> I'd do the 17 all day long..

but If I could say what I wanted it would be a G19----->easier to conceal and carry, ride in the car, more discrete carry, drops two on capacity but is much more comfortable IMO. Plus if SHTF my side arm will be just that….and I will have a rifle of some type slung over my shoulder all the time if at all possible.

Glock 19 is Goldilocks... Not too small or too large.

Glock 19 (23) fits the hand perfectly. Glock 17 (22) is a little large in the handgrip for most. The extra length add a few rounds, but not much. It also makes concealed carry harder.

A vast ( or really overwhelming) majority of people including myself have chosen the G-19 for that exact use. I have 6 of them (one for each member of the family, a "loaner", a "spare"), plus a G-23 w/ 9mm conver. barrel & a G-17.

In addition to its reliability, accuracy, controllability, capacity, lightweight, & adequate power other factors to consider are:

Ease of breakdown
Inexpensive/ easy to repair design
Modularity of parts
Inexpensive & simple to customize
Ability to share mags. between different models of the same caliber
Widespread availability of components i.e. sights, conv. barrels, .22 conv. kits, etc.
Widespread availability of both gun & mag. holsters

And of course the 33 rd. mag. for sustained firepower to repel those pesky zombie hordes....
It (the G-19) is the standard by which other designs are judged by.

If history is any indicator it will eventually be replaced but as of right now (& the past decade or two) it & the 17 are the top choice of most professionals & serious practitioners.
