if you had a thousand planes transponding on the ground at one time in one place... @ the AIRPORT
they are turned on b/4 each flight
they are on a circuit breaker like everything else

I'm not sure what you're saying, or how it relates to MH 370. Transponders are turned on on the Pushback checklist, and turned off on the Shutdown checklist. I suppose you could find and pull the CB if you had to, but normally using CB's as a switch isn't a great idea.
There's waay too much speculating and conjecture on the news by the "experts" about this incident.
Interesting nonetheless - I look forward to seeing what really happened.
