Lost a deer out this am.

Saw several groups of deer this morning in this cool weather.
Looks like they’re ready to enjoy the sudden burst of cool air before they disappear for first day of archery…haha.

This can actually be a hard time for deer. Little of the Fall mast is ready and the Summer growth is not the high nutrient new growth of Spring and early Summer. This is just one good reason a supplemental feeding program should be kept going year round if you do one at all. I've been doing that for a few years now and, though it takes some effort to keep it going, the results is worth it. Also remember that you don't have to hunt over the feeding station to give the deer in the area the benefit of one.
