I lost my father 9 years ago on July 4th. Some independence day. He and rarely talked but I know he loved me and I loved him. It was a different kind of relationship. Whether a good or bad relationship flourished losing a parent is tough. Sounds like you admired your dad. My condolences go to you and your family.
