Lost my step dad

He and my mother was married 37 yrs. He was a Vietnam vet with SF unit. He was in law enforcement for close to 40 years. He was tough ol coot 2nd time on life support in 90 days.
My mother bern by his side since Tuesday. Today was first time she left for any amount of time. I was the only one there when he passed peacefully. He did it his way didn't want my mom,sister or BIL to have to see him. I was fine until i got hime by myself. He knew I would handle it. He's not hurting any more now. What I got to remember.
