Lots of questions about 458 socom

And a 7.62x29 BCG

Do they have a tendency to break like when using it for the 7.62x39 round? I haven't had that problem with mine but I have heard a lot of people say to have a spare one on hand due to the thinning of the edges to hold the larger round.

I went with the Wilson Combat kit for my third build since I had a WC lower.

I also used some Tromix kits.
They sell parts for the original development guys to original specs.

All have functioned well.

Look up .458 socom forums for a wealth of information.

On the upper the ejection port needs opened a bit..or you can buy one made that way.

Take at least one mag and open a slight quarter moon at the feed lip area to feed flat nose 250 gr. Bullets.

You can't go wrong with either round.
I think the .450 b is more common.

With that being said my go to is the Raptor ammo.

I shot a lot of 7.62x39 in my AR's. One I have had since AWB and the other I built about a year ago. Old one (20" A2)has not had any issues from the BCG and has shot cases of steel cased ammo. New one ripped the hook off the extractor. The new one runs suppressed 99% of the time, so that may have been a factor or just bad part. I replaced the extractor and have not had any other issues. Neither one shows any damage to the bolt face or lugs.

Get an adjustable gas block for you build and tune it for your gun. You will be much happier shooting it, trust me.
