Loud Range Handguns

What handguns go above and beyond for noise? For indoor ranges my vote goes to the Smith & Wesson 500 with a 4" barrel. Very big bang in a small (X Frame) package.

What is your vote for the top indoor handgun noise maker?

This. Even my M85 always manages to get a few naughty looks thrown my way if I'm not the only one shooting.

My Steyr SPP is also quite loud for what it is.

i have to go with the 500 magnum as well seems like any time i take mine to the range it clears out pretty quick

Years ago, I was at Panells shooting range and the guy next to me was shooting a 454 Casull and I swear I could feel the pressure impact in my teeth every time he sent a round downrange. Felt like it made my teeth rattle.... that was pretty loud.

Personal experience? Ported 454 Casull. Close second was my 40 S&W load. 135 gr Nosler JHP over Blue Dot out of G22. Fireball was about 18" long. Accurate, but sounded almost as bad as ported Casull.

7.5" AR pistol with a brake can clear a public range pretty quickly.

Not the loudest but the Wife's Beretta pico 380 is a lot Crazy louder than expected. Short barrel 500 gotta be a demon. My 10" mutant with cone on it is purdy ridiculous loud

Two of mine that are kinda loud, Savage Striker in 308 and Polish Hellpup.
