lower back pain

I'm in the physical therapy business, will trade treatment sessions for guns! Haha. Pain while in seated/flexed position usually is an indicator or herniated disc. Just because it's not radiating to your legs doesn't mean you can rule it out. Need to get an mri with it reoccurring.

I doubt it's a kidney stone. I've had 2 and they hurt like hell until they come out.
ohhh really? ive never had one and just checked with my mom, no one on either side of the family has had them evidently

im just trying to rule stuff out. im going to the doctor regardless though, getting really tired of this. went away on its own and i thought id be better. i should know better, wishful thinking and what not

Because it "went away" for some time make me lean even more towards an auto immune disease. RA can go into remission and you will be totally symptom free. Then it will come back and hurt like hell (a flare up). Trust me, go to an Rhumatologist and at least let them run the tests. It took 2 orthopedics, 4 physical therapist and a generalist to finally find out what was wrong with me. That was months and months of agonizing pain.
yup, im gonna suck it up and pay for it. my insurance sucks (thanks obama) which is why i have been putting it off but no more

so, again for those who have had kidney stones, the pain was super intense generally? was it relegated to one side? and did the pain come in waves?

I know from experience a ruptured or decaying disk will cause pain/discomfort as it crushes your nerve. Your body adjusts to the pain in time and the discomfort leaves. As it gets crushed a little more the pain returns. It's a cycle that repeats itself as the frequency increases. Some days, weeks or months you think your fine, but it's a ticking time bomb. The earlier you get diagnosed the better. Physical therapy is the answer when caught early, after that it's spinal fusion. You will need an MRI for proper diagnosis.
